Mr David WEW UPDATE.
children not in school are more vulnerable to health problems, child abuse and death. Education in multiple studies have proven that education saves lives. Those in schools particularly the girls are safer, and more likely not to be trafficked in sexual and labor exploitation or to become child soldiers. Gender and equality rights are ensured with an education, Children are given information and knowledge they need to protect themselves. Education remains an important safeguard for children. This is accomplished by many different approaches and crosses many sectors for support and includes advocating for the human right to an education that the most ratified convention in the UN history the Convention on the Right of the Child 1989 signed by 189 countries save USA and Somalia guarantees the right to an education.

Walk for Education World Wide carries an important message for the literal peace of our planet. Look to the developed countries that have almost or universal education for all children through higher education and see the an advanced GNP and income for its citizens. No one program or solution saves everyone on the planet. There are always those by choice or those that are marginalized by prejudice or neglect by some societies slip through the cracks. I believe that by getting 65 million girls in school and 56 million more boys and keep them there, the world will advance to the place we all wish our planet to evolve to.

Girl education matters but WEW is for all the children. As I sit here in Germany five weeks or so from my trip to Uganda to participate in their government wide event for WEW, I am overwhelmed with all that needs to be done. I then look down at the list below and see that behind me and by myself are NINE organizations -- NGO's in partnership with me and TLC and the 10,200 children that will stand up and advocate lending their voice to mine and I have a chill running down my spine of awe and respect for what can be accomplished.

If I have not said to date, let me say now and say in with all the love and respect I can utter from my heart., Thank you for allowing my dream to join with your dream to create this reality of advocating for the children of the world. this is an earnest business a serious business but lets not during our events around the world to not to have joy and fun and to give thanks that we have the freedom to advocate, that we have the means and ability and education to advocate and to take great pride and joy in the success of the children around you and the progress that is being made and has been made. Remember each tree in the forest and give thanks and WEW will help to expand and grow our forest but we have trees and growth in education and I don't want to lose sight of the good. The Glass is half full. and I am aware of all of this because of your friendship and partnership. I will stay in touch and will start a WEW newsletter so that we have a tool to communicate and to fundraiser.

thank you,

David

We expect to hire music bands that will play music on the week long event to draw attention of parents, community leaders and the government to us and let them know what we are actually crying out for and come to our aid.

At the end of the campaign which will officially be closed on the 19th of November 2004, there will be a plenary session that will attract community leaders, the local government officials and the children who will have a one-on-one chat and a committee will be set-up to investigate the number of children who are out of school within the localities and plans would also be concluded with adequate funding at getting them back to school.

This is the concept of Right for Children, Youth and Social Development to commemorate the Walk for Education Worldwide Campaign.
